Rooney style and Ronnie's soon to be smile

Three lions on the shirt roared last night with England beating minnows Andorra 6-0 at a Wembley, London. With Rooney getting a first half brace, one of them being a beautifully controlled volley, and Lampard adding the third before half time it was all a stroll from there on. As it should i hear you say but tell me this, when was the last time England took real control of a game against a side like Andorra? Hmm, exactly. For once it was nice to see us take total control early on instead of giving everyone the jitters till 60 mins in for a second goal. I digress, second half sub Defoe added 2 more goals before Crouchie got another (he has a 1 in 2 ratio - unbelievable i know and all thanks to playing the Jamaica's and Andorra's of the footballing world). With just one more win needed to secure World Cup football for next summer England like in fine shape to be in South Africa come summer 2010.

From one Manchester Utd great to another. Ronaldo looks to be finally heading off to the sun after 6 years of rain in Manchester. With Real his boyhood dream who can blame him for going? He has been awesome for pretty much 3 seasons now and won everything you possibly can at Utd. As for Utd, with their debts to control it seems £80million is too much to turn down. As long as they spend some of that money wisely they should be fine but looking at the clubs transfer history it is doubtful. I'm expecting some over priced players to be heading to Manchester this summer, both red and blue. One thing for sure is Liverpool and Chelsea will both be licking their lips at the prospect of taking on a Utd side without Ronaldo's (least we forget Tevez too) attacking abilities. And If a club the size of United think Antonio Valencia will fill his boots they are in for a shock for sure.

Ah, the summer transfer merry-go round, sometimes it's more fun than the on-field season itself, and there is 2 1/2 months still to go. What's the bets on an over priced winger signing at Old Trafford on 31 August at 23:50?

Jackson London shows won't happen?

Here's a headline all you wacko Jacko fans won't appreciate. According to a Jackson family insider, Arthur Phoenix, Jacko won't make his performances in London (at the O2 Arena - http://www.theo2.co.uk/) this year. With the first few shows already delayed until 2010 due to a cancer scare i can well believe the story.

Jackson is due to perform 50 concerts in London in the This Is It Tour. I have a ticket for the beginning of August although to be fair i am not expecting much. The guy has done jack (pardon the pun) for years now and i think it is probably fair to say he past his sell by date. Still, it is the last chance to see the so called "King of Pop" so hence the ticket.

What are your thoughts on this story?

The Wimbledon Championships are upon us

Stawberries and cream, Pimms and rain, Yes you've got it, the No.1 tennis tournament in the world is just around the corner.

So will Andy Murrey be able to go one better than the last Great British hope Tim Henman, Or will the powers of Federer and Nadal prove too much once again? And what of the new roof on centre court, a 30 minute closing time means games will, no doubt, still stop for a drop of the wet stuff. At least no Cliff, sorry Sir Cliff, Richard sing-alongs...phew, i might go this year then.

I have to say i feel Murrey is getting closer all the time but i am afraid i think this year is one year to early for him. Obviously a good showing at Queens would help Murrey mania to whip up the crowds and press heaping more pressure on him. With Henman Hill now known as Murrey Mountain at least he will be cheered on by many an adoring fan.

Easy but not as easy as i thought...

So i have finally got this blog up and running. Now i know there is whole lot more out there for me to learn but hey i've started. I mean, come on, give me a break - i struggled to get the cookies turned on...kinda! Anyways...onwards and upwards...links, posts, comments...

Hello London, hello World...

Well here I am, Larry (more about me later...maybe), stuck at my desk at home and guess what, i am enjoying it!! What? I know, i know kinda crazy but after a funny few weeks of late (I'll come back to this at a later date...) I can tell you, this is, erm, strangely enjoyable.
My first Weblog that is. Or should i say Blog? I'm not sure you see. Although I wouldn't say I'm a technophobe neither am i right up there with a "Techie" or "Geek" - oops...I'm guessing there are a few of you out there, hopefully reading this and laughing (yes, at me - i would but i wouldn't know why?). I've had the gaming consoles, desktops and laptops but i only understand how to boot them up, it can all get a little confusing after that.
Anyway, so here is the opening blog. This place is open to anyone who knows about, has an interest in, lives, has lived, vacationed and holidayed in the fantastic, vibrant City of London. From bars and clubs, music and movies, gigs and shows, sports and hoes, literally anything goes. So bring your thoughts here and make London happy as Larry.
